I'm building a Rig. I've got an ASUS PRIME-Z270-K. I've got and an NVMe SSD it's a Samsung 960 EVO M.2 500GB that I was planning on using for my OS and whatever programs I'm running. I want to get additional storage in the form of an HDD 7200RPM 128MB cache like 6TB's. My issue is what type of HDD do I get? A NAS, an Enterprise, or whatever other options are out there? If you've got a preferable brand throw that in too? Thank You Very Much In Advance!!!!

Solution
Enterprise drives are not ideal for home solutions. Whilst they have benefits for the enterprise they are often louder.

A NAS Drive is better than a desktop drive. NAS drives are rated for 24/7 operation. I've only ever had 1 fail.

Desktop drives (WD Green, Seagate Barracuda), are rated for 8/5 operation and will almost certainly fail just before or just outside the warranty period if you use them for more than 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Since about 2013 HDD quality has plummeted. Manufacturers have sneakily acknowledged this by offering shorter warranties on all of the products.

TL;dr - Go for a NAS drive.
