The nice thing about PCI-E 2.0 X16 and 3.0 X16 (and yes, even 1.0 X16) is that they're all compatible. The biggest issue you'll experience is bottlenecking, but from what I've read (about a year ago), you won't have a bottleneck issue by going from 3.0 down to 2.0.

Nothing extra needed. The slots are compatible. So, even though your board is a 2.0 and the card is a 3.0, just install it like you would if they matched (both 2.0 or both 3.0) and the system takes care of the rest.
