I had some trouble with my monitor and I found in some forum that I could connect a second monitor and change a setting from that one to fix my issue. So I connected a second monitor (my TV :p ). My initial computer monitor is LG's Flatron e2242 (1080p) and my TV is a TELEFUNKEN TV that says it supports 1080p. So I connected my initial monitor with a DVI-VGA cable (just like before) and my TV with an HDMI cable. So now, my TV is set at 1080p, but my initial monitor is at 1024x768 and the recommended and correct resolution is 1080p, but it doesn't show. When I go to Screen Resolution, I can see the two monitors and I know that I can click on the monitor I want to configure and set it's resolution, but the recommended one just doesn't show! I run Windows 7 64-bit and I have an AMD R9 380 4GB. Even in Speccy, which I use to check the temperature, it identifies the initial LG monitor as Generic Non-PnP Monitor (1280x1024@60Hz). What can I do?

In case the problem I had before affects the current setup, this is a link to it:

Ok so I did something that might have worked out and I have to share it in case it helps someone else! So I just ended up connecting a second monitor because I saw someone suggested it. The initial one was connected with a VGA cable with a DVI adapter on the graphics card and the second one was connected with an HDMI cable. So having done that, the second TV (which was 1080p) displayed 1080p, but the initial one (also 1080p) didn't display like that. It was at 1024x680 and 1920x1080 didn't show at the Screen Resolution settings, it only showed up to 1700x... So I opened the AMD software by right clicking on the desktop and went to Custom Resolution for the initial monitor.and typed 1920 and 1080 at the respective boxes. That made the...

That made the monitor display at 1080p and although I haven't yet tried starting the computer with just the initial monitor, I've tried disconnecting the second monitor while the computer was on and although there was that flickering of adjusting, the initial monitor displayed correctly in the end. So I think it's been fixed.
