Hi i got a corsair 550 watt psu and i was worried if it would be good for my upgrade to a gtx 1060

I am now rocking a 350 watt psu
The specs are
Cpu: intel core i5 7400
Gpu: nvidia geforce gtx 1050
Drives 1x 150gb ssd 1x tb hdd
2x 4gb ddr4 ram

However i got a msi gtx 1060 gaming x 6gb and i was a bit worried if the new psu would deliver enough juce to the card

Thank you for your reply

Solution
The wattage is enough but quality and efficiency wise, other than the cx550m and rm550x, the rest of their 550w range are mediocre units. I have heard that the recent cx550(2017) is as good as the cxm but have not come across any concrete reviews yet.
So which one did you get???

I haven't seen any reviews of the new CX550. Only discussion threads about it on jonnyGURU.com's forums.

Same here.
So its basically not yet tested.

The CXM series is usually reviewed as a "good PSU for the money" but the emphasis is on the last 3 words. personally i would not put it in a system that is overclocked or subject to heavy loadings. Of course at that point it comes down to a budget versus quality issue. And while I would tell anyone to just toss it and get somethging else, if you don't have it yet, I would get something better and cheaper

Corsair CXM 550 is $60

Seasonic 620 S12 is just $43

Modular version is $57

He already got the unit unfortunately.

How is it unfortunate?

It is unfortunate because he does not have the scope to look elsewhere anymore unless he wishes to return it.

The other three models listed wouldn't be any better. The two Seasonic models, mentioned, are old group regulated units.

Maybe, but this unit has not been tested yet. So its not definitive.
