Odd and specific request involving the Aorus Z270X-Gaming 5 and NZXT Kraken X62.

So, this is my situation;

I currently have the MSI Z270 Krait Gaming motherboard, the Kraken X62 cooler, and 4 sticks of Corsair LED ram. It's all really nice, but here's the thing: the distance from the CPU socket to the DIMM slots is too small for the tubes from the Kraken to fit, so it has to face 90 degrees to the left, which looks and feels retarded.

The reason im asking regarding the Aorus Z270X Gaming 5 is because that's the one I'm planning to get next, but I want to make sure the Kraken will fit.

So, does anyone have the Aorus motherboard, paired with the Kraken X62 cooler, and can tell me whether or not it allows for 4 ram sticks with the tubes from the Kraken on the right (as it should be)?

Very odd request - I know, but I appreciate any help.

Thank you :)

There are two slightly different models, they look very similar though. I imagine one has a slightly different cooling block. If I recall they are on like generation 4 of the typical round pump/block combo. (Both of these are 280mm radiators)

You can't filter by motherboard or memory, but you can filter by socket and cooler. I found those in the first few pages by looking at the pictures where 4 memory sticks were in use. Maybe someone used all those parts together, maybe not.

I imagine Gigabyte uses the same spacing for all their similar style boards. Would make the assembly line easier to re-tool between products. But I can't actually say that for certain. Most vendors don't provide a mechanical line-drawing.

You can always return...

Two versions of the X62 out there. I have the motherboard, but not that particular CPU cooler.

A great question, here is usually how I go about verifying them:

PCPartpicker.com, and a filtered search for the components you are wanting. Then see if anyone has built it already.

Gaming 7 + four sticks : https://pcpartpicker.com/b/hPFtt6

Seems a lot of people went with the ASUS Prime boards, I looked rather closely myself before going with the Gigabyte.

I would say that it should work, but you may be putting a little pressure on the stick closest to the CPU.

What do you mean there's two versions of the X62 out there? there's a 140 and a 120mm but that doesn't affect the size of the cooler itself.

I have tried pcpartpicker, but I can't seem to choose a motherboard in the filter - I don't know if I'm simply blind or what's happening.

The guy with the Gaming 7 has indeed done it, but the question is if the size is identical to the Gaming 5, which I would assume it is. It's simply a lot of money to throw away if it ends up not fitting.

Thanks for your help though, really appreciate it.

You can always return products. This is why I like custom cooling, if it doesn't fit, change it.
