Unplugged pcie plugs and unplugged ram

So I was messing around with my computer and I unplugged the ram stick and the pcie connectors to the top of the graphics card. I turned on the computer with out them in and the fans started spinning but nothing came up on the monitor. I then plugged everything back in and it still won't post

Was computer plugged in at that time ? If it was, you probably screwed up many things. If it was actually running, than you screwed up something(s) for sure.
