I'm such a noob to all of this. How would I go about updating the bios and does every motherboard require it? What about the MSI A320M Gaming Pro? The description says it supports Ryzen processors, but would I still have to update the bios?

Go with a b350 mobo. Not a a320 one.
Ryzen 7 were the first one to arrive. So they are supported from the first bios revision. Ryzen 3 requires the latest bios.
Some motherboards have the option to update with just USB. I know that u have m flash for msi tomahawk. But I don't know abt asrock.
Worst case scenario, you have to take it to a local pc shop and update it for like 10 bucks?
