Hello,
Last night when I was chatting with friends through discord my computer just suddenly turned off. There was no sound, just an instant shut off. After that I couldnt turn the computer on so I checked the power supply, unplugged and replugged the cable, I even looked inside my computer and my Motherboard, hard drive, GPU and everything was still plugged in.

Pressing the power button does NOTHING. No sound, no fans rotating, just absolutely nothing. I have an Xbox USB controller that I can plug in and when doing so, the light on the controller lights up, which makes me think it can't be the power supply because power is still running through the USB ports even though my computer isn't turning on.

Any idea what's going on?

Solution
USB and 5v it gets are just a small part of what PSU has to supply, many more places where it could have wrong or no voltages. Part of power distribution is also on MB so anything wrong may be in several places. Proper thing to do is to try new PSU or to have that one checked.
