Is the Cryorig H5 universal enough for i7 7700k?

Title says it all, I'm thinking about getting the H5 universal to cool the i7 7700k.

That being said, I do plan to overclock, hence the unlocked chip. but not for now, and not with this cooler. When I do, I'd like to reach the 5GHz margin, but of course, with a better cooler.

Right now, I just want to keep it really cool and quiet.

Other options are welcome, I've been thinking about the H7 or even the be quiet! Pure rock as a substitute.

Thank you in advance.

I've been using the H7 w/ i7-7700K and at 4.5GHz and even stock clock it is starting to reach 80C in AC Origins. You'd need a $90-$100 AiO to be as good as or better than a Cryorig H5.

So, the H5 would be a good choice.

I'm trying to figure out my next cooler upgrade. My case supports 160mm tall air cooler or up to 360mm AiO.

I'll be using the H5 for my build which uses the i7 7700k, and realistically speaking it should be more than fine. If you want to invest in something higher, then obviously who are the rest of us to stop you?

I7-7700K is a 91w processor, more if overclocked.
Noctua has a nice TDP support chart for cooling options for it's coolers.

Cryorig H5 is excellent and might be comparable to the noctua NH-D14 and such.
I think you are good with it.
H7 is nice of you have little room, it is more like the NH-U12s.

Remember that any cooler need a source of fresh intake air to do its job.
Buy a good case.

FWIW:
As of 6/9/17
What percent can get an overclock at a somewhat sane 1.4v Vcore.

I7-7700K
4.9 83%
5.0 62%
5.1 29%
5.2 6%

Thank you for the replies.

I was seriously considering the h7 as it's much cheaper.

I'm just not sure if it will hold it cool enough. If it will, I'd definitely consider buying the H7.

Anyone has that combo?

The H7 is way cheaper, and I can't make up my mind.

I also heard that entry level AIO liquid coolers are not good (Malestrom for example) is that true?

I know that the 7700k has overheating problems, and I'd like to avoid frying it. If that means that I need to buy the h5, so be it. But if the pure rock or h7 will do fine, let me know please.
