Hi, my pc is windows 98 se edition im installed it with a genuine windows 98 se retail cd rom, now i have windows xp upgrade cd, i would like to upgrate w 98 to win xp.

its all good but , my question is after upgrading to windows xp can i use my windows 98 se cd rom on another pc?

The Upgrade to XP consumes the Win 98 license.
You don't get to use both.

At this point, I doubt Microsoft is following the licenses for Windows 98...

But, technically, if you own the retail CD, then yes, you could transfer it to another device you own. If you're the original first owner of the retail, then you can transfer it to 1 other person who can use it on any device they own (you no longer would be allowed to) and they would not be able to transfer it to anyone else (or even back to you as it's already been transferred once).
 


I disagree, because it is an xp upgrade disk/license, it consumes the 98 license. Were it a full xp license i would agree with you.
