As I was using my PC I smelled something burning and then realized my Razer Keyboard was hot. I have my ASTRO A50 USB charger there and quickly unplugged it from the usb port. After unplugging it I realized the end that would go in to my headphones was gone leaving exposed wire. Just to confirm would this be the cause of the burning smell and is it safe to use the USB on my keyboard?

Thanks in advance!

If you have a USB power meter, you could measure the amount of power going to the keyboard to see if it is down to a reasonable level now that the defective device has been unplugged from it. Or you could simply plug the keyboard back in and see if it warms up again.
