Hello.

Some days ago died my MSI AMD R9 270 2GB Gaming GPU. I got it work after chaning thermo paste but after 2 days it died again. Now I decide to buy MSI GeForce GTX 1050 X Gaming 2GB GDDR5 PCIE.

Yep this card is 3.0 PCI but my motherboard is 2.0 PCI. But as I readed my old gpu was also 3.0 so can 2.0 motherboard also can run 3.0 and my new gpu then`? I think it can but I just ask because I dont want but gpu and then later its not working :)

Alsoo is the new gpu size is same as my old gpu. because my case is pretty small. I use Zalman Mini Tower T3.

So my specs:
Case: I use Zalman Mini Tower T3.
Motherboard: http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/960GM-VGS3%20FX/index.us.asp?cat=Specifications
New gpu: https://www.1a.ee/arvutikomponendid_vorgutooted/komponendid/videokaardid/msi_geforce_gtx_1050_x_gaming_2gb_gddr5_pcie_gtx1050gamingx2g

Old gpu: R9 270 msi gaming 2gb

Also my CPU is: amd fx-6300 and psu corsair builder CX500 ATX2.3 80 + 500W

So I think this should be good PC again?

3.0 is backwards compatible

you may need to make sure the motherboard bios is up to date
