Solution
Check if your earphone is four-pin plug at the jack,
Some devices use a mini jack connector. This smaller connector is not compatible with few motherboard and you might need an adapter in order to use your device. I sometimes use my phone earphone with PC and it works fine.

Its better you update or uninstall the driver on the device manager and check it,

Try the below steps:
1. Connect your earphone.
2. Connect to the Internet.
3. From the Start screen, type device manager to open the Search charm, then select Device Manager from the search results.
4. Device Manager will open.
5. Double-click on Sound, video and game controllers.
6. Right-click the name of the sound hardware and uninstall.
7. Restart you system and check if it works...

Buy one. It will solve your problem.

Phone earphones 3.5 connectors are not compatible with 3.5 connectors of your PC audio ports. These adapter cables separate microphone and speaker signals and route to correct audio ports.

As you might have guessed, I am using one.

Good Luck.:) Peace.
7. Click Search automatically for updated driver software and wait for Windows to update the driver software.
8. Windows checks to see if updated driver software is available. If an update is available, let Windows install the update.
9. When the update is installed successfully, close the Updater and test the device.
