Asus z97-a M.2 troubles

I recently picked up a Samsung 960 Pro (512gb) to add to my Asus z97-a as a strictly-storage drive. The OS (Win 7 Ultimate, 64-bit) is on another drive and working fine. I cannot get the BIOS nor Windows to recognize the new M.2 drive. I've also tried the Samsung Magician software, which also does not recognize the drive. I have updated the BOIS to the latest version which supports NVMe as advertised, as well as toggled the PIC-express slot to M.2 mode in the BIOS settings. Is there something else I'm missing here?

Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer.

Edit: Many thanks to Calvin7 down below. It never crossed my mind that NVMe support would not have found it's way into a Win7 update natively by now. I downloaded the hotfix as found here:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2990941/update-to-add-native-driver-support-in-nvm-express-in-windows-7-and-wi

and Disk Management recognized my drive after apply the hotfix and rebooting. Thank you very much for solving what Asus support couldn't even solve.

Windows doesn't have NVMe driver until you add it. Microsoft has released an update with native drivers for Windows 7 which add NVMe storage support.
