I have been working on fixing this comouter for months with no luck. I replaced the power supply. Just replaced the motherboard now and still no doesnt work. My computer wasnt turning on at all before and the mobo had no light, so this is a little better. the mobo light is on and then when I press power the fans and the lights turn on for a split second. My water cooling pump does not seem to start tho. I checked all the cables they seem fine. Ive checked the ram and tried a new one that I know works. Ive switched out my gpus. The cpu looked ok when I put it into the mobo. I attached a small speaker to the mobo but not hearing any beeps within the split second that it comes on and clicks off. WTF could be wrong?

Cpu: amd fx 8350 be
Mobo: 970 pro gaming aura asus
gpu: 2x msi 760 sli
psu: corsair AX 860i
ram:gskill ripjawsX 2x 4g
wc pump: swiftech mcp50

Edit: When I plug the 24 connector and the gpu connectos only into the psu the power stays on. Hdd or ssd problem maybe? It only goes off when I have ANY of the 3 SATA & peripheral cables plugged in.

Edit: Okay, so I switched out the three sata cables with the new psu cables and it runs for 30 seconds before shutting off now. I get one starting beep, then one more softer beep thats pretty short. 10 secs later it shuts off. Im thinking mayne the cpu is overheating now? Im reseating the waterblock right now, then I am going to try and test it without each component. I have ruled out the gpu and ram already. The psu and mobo are new and I think I can rule them out as well as they seem to be running fine.

Fix: so decided to hook up the minitor and saw that the usb was causing a short. clipped the wire off the case and im down one usb 3 but my computer is working. Im sure the mobo was the original problem since the other one wont light up or get me to a monitor screen at all. Thanks for the help boys!

What happens when you plug the sata & peripheral cables into the PSU and motherboard, BUT dont connect them into anything. So in a way there is power going into the cables but you dont plug them into anything that needs power or to transfer data.

Just to rule out that your cables are damaged in any way.

If this works. Try adding 1 thing at the time just to see what you have plugged in when you loose power again.

I just had one that would start, shut off after about a second, then continue in that cycle. Computer is built around an Intel DQ67 board and an i5 processor. CPU fan was fine, as was the power supply. I disconnected the power, and reset the CMOS to no avail. On a whim I decided to hold the DEL key down as I started it, and it did boot into BIOS. I went ahead and booted into windows and it went fine.

Only issue I have found is a disk check shows an error "Possible False Positive When Drive Is In Use" . . . but I'm still running diagnostics.

Forgot to put my conclusion on here. The SATA cables are not compatible with other power supplies. Pretty simple thing. I switched out the psu, but left the old SATA cables in. Put the new ones in and worked fine.
