New laptop shopping

Hi,
I am looking for a new laptop for school, I am trying to get one with an AMD processor out of personal preference, and an SSD for longer battery life and less spinning components that can be broken.
I have found this one online that I am hoping someone could have a look at and give me feedback on.

That cpu is quite slow. You can get a better computer for the same price.


You didn't really mention a budget.
This one has a much faster CPU, the same size SSD with a 1 TB HDD, Higher Resolution screen and a lower price.

The ultimate AMD laptop would be ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC.
Currently unreleased, they are expected to be the first laptops with AMD's new Ryzen CPU's allowing 8 cores on a laptop.

The AMD A series processors are old and out of date and the new AMD Ryzen processors for laptops are not out yet. I wouldn't buy the HP A6 laptop in your link. It's way underpowered in comparison to Intel i3 and i5 laptops that are available for similar prices. Also, your on the right track with an SSD. Be sure to get a laptop with at least a 256GB SSD.
