Hey,
Over the last few days, I've been having this issue where after launching a game (I've had it happen on two games - Playerunknown's Battlegrounds and Battlerite), both my monitors will says "no signal". Whilst this has happened, the games audio will break, but if I'm in a voice call with someone on Discord I will still be able to speak with them. The only way I've been able to then proceed to use my PC again is to restart it by pressing the power button. I'm planning on bringing my GPU around a friends house to test it in his machine, but in the mean time, does anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to fix this?

System Specs:

  • Intel Core i5-4690K
    Gigabyte Nvidia Geforce GTX 980
    ASUS Z97-P Motherboard
2 sticks of CORSAIR XMS3 4GB RAM running at 1333MHz
    Corsair CX600M PSU
For drives I've got some old western digital HDDs and a 480gb sandisk ssd for my boot drive
What I've Tried After Some Google Searches:

  • Re-seating the GPU and the RAM, and generally ensuring all cables are properly plugged in.
    Updating Bios
[Update] Tested my GPU in my friends PC, worked fine.
Thanks,
Dan

Could you try testing another PSU as well? In the meantime you could try Switching to your HD graphics instead of your GPU and do some testing with light graphics games if you have any, if it doesn't crash that would be a sign but I doubt it.

Also -

1 - Does this happens only when using Dual Monitors ? Have you tried testing with only one?
2 - How are you using the monitors, are you extending or duplicating? And whats the Refresh Rate for Both Game and Monitor? Have you tried checking both NVIDIAs Panel and ingame settings for incorrect display / refresh rate options?

It's happened both while using dual and single monitors. The second monitors is an extension of the first.
After reinstalling my GPU after bringing it back from my mates house, I haven't had the issue since. I'm going to keep the topic open in case I'm just getting lucky though.
Maybe it was just a matter of reseating the gpu (even though I did that already)..

Well I had the same problem 2 years ago due to overheating caused by a dead fan (Vga card fan). Maybe in your case, one of the fans inside ur cpu is dead. Have u checked it?
