Hello!

I've got this Asus x299 e gaming motherboard. I would like to ask how many fans may I connect to it.
In motherboard's manual I found this info:
Chassis fan connectors (4-pin CPU_FAN; 4-pin CPU_OPT; 4-pin M.2_FAN; 4-pin W_ PUMP+; 4-pin AIO_PUMP; 5-pin EXT_FAN; 4-pin CHA_FAN1-2).

So my question is how many fans can I connect to motherboard according this info?

Many thanks for any answer and help.

Solution
Here's where i'd connect the 5x 140mm case fans: CHA_FAN1, CHA_FAN2, AIO_PUMP, W_PUMP+ and M.2_FAN. It doesn't matter which fan you plug to which fan header since all fan headers support DC and PWM control.

More info from your MoBo manual, page 1-22,

If you want to run 2 fans in a sync, e.g 2x 140mm intake fans, then use Y-splitter and connect both fans to a single fan header,

When excluding the EXT_FAN header, you can hook up to 14 fans to your MoBo by using Y-splitters (2x fans per one fan header), provided that single fan amperage is below 0.5A.

Though, if you use low power draw fans, e.g Corsair AF/SP 120 Quiet Edition (non-LED, 0.08A per fan) then you can hook way more fans to your MoBo than any case can support.

Thank you for your answer. Ok then.
Lets say I'm going to use 5 Noctua industrial 140mm 2000pwm fans.
i want to use two of them on the top of the case in push configuration, one on the back side of the case in push configuration and two fans on the fromt panel of the case in pull configuration.
So ehat do you think in which connectors should I connect these fans in cofiguration mentioned above.

Thank you.
