Can you tell me the best possible build consisting of i7-7700k and GTX 1080 for 1500$? I won't overclock. Please don't tell me to buy something else like ryzen. I already know all the positives and negatives of the platform. I am getting the 7700k instead of the 7700 because of the higer clock speeds.

Solution
I'd take Hellfire's build, save $50 on mobo and get a Z270A or another $150-ish dollar mobo, change the psu to the M12ii modular one, but that's a great build.

And there'sno real reason NOT to do a mild all-core overclock. You're not going to hurt it, it's super simple, and leaving it stock is wasted potential. Maybe start atstock the OC in 3-4 years if it feels slow.
