Hey there, I recently bought myself an i7 6700k along with a corsair h100i V2 and I wasn't too sure where to start with in terms of overclocking.

Currently I have my 6700k overclock to 4.5GHz @1.28 Volts, and it is stable in a 15 minute realbench stress(can very likely go longer without issue) and has these temps:

(minimum temps = idle temps after 15 minutes)

As this is my first time overclocking a cpu of any kind, I'm curious if this is good or not and if I should be increasing the core multiplier+voltage.

I'm also curious if the current GHz/voltage I'm running is good?

And my final curiosity is are the temps good(considering it's a stress test I should be assuming that the temps in gaming wont be as high?)

And if you're curious I'm using arctic MX-4 Thermal paste.

thanks, if you're able to respond to any of my questions! :)

I also have an i7 6700K along with a Dark Rock Pro 3 CPU cooler. I strongly suggest you to OC using Offset Voltage (Adaptive Voltage) instead of fixed voltage or motherboard Auto OC settings. That way the CPU voltage can drop when the cpu load decreases (also saves power consumption).
For reference: I am running my i7 6700K at 4.6ghz (4.56ghz in task manager) using a +85mv Voltage offset. For my cpu that lands me at 1.344v max voltage. The temperature reaches max 74C under prolonged stress testing. I am also running my Corsair Veangeance LPX 3000mhz at 2933mhz (increase the VCSSA and VCCIO) as 3000mhz required a 4.7ghz OC for which my cpu required 1.39v (which increased the temps higher than necessary- about 10C).

To note, every CPU...

Although you got a bad chip, but the cooling itself is amazing. You can try push it more til you reach 75 - 80C temp max. Also, don't try to get it to 1.4V - 1.5V for the core.

I'm jealous here man, my i7 4790k @ 4.5Ghz already got 80C on ASUS Realbench V2.54 for 8 hrs stress test cool with Noctua NH D15 S. Want to trade? :)

To note, every CPU is different, and it is better to find the sweet spot for yours. You can probably hit 4.7ghz with a lower voltage than me. Your temps are more than fine but to be sure run the test for 30 minutes at least to see the max. temperature

In conclusion, try setting an + offset voltage and see what frequency you can reach at good temps.
