I have been into computers very long and I have always wanted to build one but did not have the money to do so (I am a student). Now my poor Sony VIAO laptop (4.5 y/o) broke due to a motherboard failure (with a i7-3537u and GT740M). SONY does not make (VIAO) laptops anymore so spare parts are rare and expensive. To fix this at the store, it would have cost about €1100 and that is more than the purchase price new, 4.5 years ago.
I do not have any console or something else to game on and I am using the family computer (aka moms working station) to do the basic things. I first wanted to put a GTX1070 in it but the cryptomining effect is hitting the GPU market hard, which I do not like because I have to have a new computer anyway (forced: because my laptop is broken), also in those hard times... so I went for a GTX1060 3GB

Parts:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Boxed €205,90 via nl.hardware.info

MOBO: ASUS Strix B350-F Gaming $89.99 + $1.99 via Newegg.com

PSU: Corsair RM650x €102,95 via nl.hardware.info

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB DDR4-3000 CL15 kit €139,90 via nl.hardware.info

SSD: Crucial MX300 275GB (M.2) €96,90 via nl.hardware.info

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC 3GB $234.98 (€200) via Amazon.com

CASE: Fractal Design Meshify C Tempered Glass edition €91,16 via nl.hardware.info

SSHD: Seagate FireCuda 2TB €99,90 via nl.hardware.info
or maybe the 1TB version of it $68.06 (€57,59)

MONITOR: AOC G2460VQ6 €139,00 via nl.hardware.info

Total cost: €1154,34 ($1364,27) incl. monitor and with the 2TB SSHD
OR: €1112,03 ($1314,27) incl. monitor and with the 1TB SSHD

PLEASE NOTE: COMPATIBILITY:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/q9wYjc (my build) said:
"Compatibility notes: The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled." What does this do and does this affect my build?

I live in The Netherlands (Holland), the Dutch webshops are connected to a site called hardware.info (or nl.hardware.info)
or I use Amazon or Newegg if the price is much cheaper there, but I do not know about the international warranty. If that is OK with the warranty, I rather purchase everything from Amazon/Newegg because it is just cheaper than in The Netherlands(depends on which is cheaper)

+ I already have an ESD wristband when I will be building my PC :)

Budget Range: incl. monitor max. around €1150 (actually I wanted to stay below 1000 euros with my pc but the GPU market is messed up)
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming
Are you buying a monitor: Yes
Do you need to buy OS: Yes, but this will not be a problem, I hope
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I live in the Netherlands, the Dutch webshops are connected to a site called hardware.info (or nl.hardware.info)
or I use Amazon or Newegg if the price is much cheaper there, but I do not know about the international warranty. If that is OK with the warranty, I rather purchase everything from Amazon/Newegg (depends on which is cheaper)

Location: (The) Netherlands/Holland
Parts Preferences: Only for the GPU: NVIDIA due to its GPU boost but I would also accept a AMD RX580 if it was not hit by the cryptomining, also because of AMD FREESYNC monitors
Overclocking: Maybe for later when I will have more money to spend on CPU/case cooling.
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in the future... I do not know if 3GB in SLI will be enough for the future
Your Monitor Resolution: looking for gaming on 1920x1080

Solution
2666mhz ram (even 2400) speeds are still absolutely fine .

Your list shows a 75htz screen ??

The higher ram speeds don't really come into play until around 100fps or more & even them the difference between 2666 & 2933 is around 5fps.

The ram you've picked is absolutely a-ok even if it only runs at 2666mhz out of the box.
Just a note on your motherboard and ram choice, as i've been using that combo for a little more than a month. I'm very happy with the board, but that memory won't go past 2666mhz at the moment. Might be able to go to 2933mhz with future bios updates. Look for corsairs 3200mhz kit or something that uses samsung chips. That being said it is very stable at 2666mhz.

Yes, okay, and what does that compatibility note mean?

The compatibility note doesn't affect your build.
With an m2 drive installed , sata ports 5 & 6 are disabled to give that m2 slot the necessary bandwidth.

Meaning with the m2 ssd & a second 1tb/2tb drive installed you have 3 sata ports left to add other drives I'm the future.

A couple of points -

The firecuda is unnecessary for a second drive , sshd's are useful when only 1 drive is installed as they show more benefit as a boot drive.
As a storage/secondary they aremtmof significant benefit.

You could save money on the PSU , that rmx is a great unit but overpriced.

Newegg?? You'll get charged big shipping & import tax - it will be cheaper to buy local in the end

The b3 is a first class PSU

The Toshiba is an excellent secondary drive.
http://www.sicomputers.nl/toshiba-2tb-3-5-7-2k-sata-6gb-s.html

Those 2 choices save you around €60.

There was somebody who recommended me getting a full modular PSU so what does it do? Thanks for giving me advice on the hard drive

So the 3000mHz kit is not good enough? We are still talking about a mid-range system so I do not know about the 3200 unless it really helps te stability of my system, even with the new/future BIOS updates

Thanks for your quick reaction! I am currently only doubting about Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 vs. the listed one.
The B350-F outruns the AB350 by about 13% in benchmark Passmark 8. What does this say and does this have effect? (I picked the review of the B350-F which is the most recent https://nl.hardware.info/reviews/7461/7/asus-strix-x370-f-gaming-a-b350-f-gaming-review-benchmarks-geheugen-en-gpu )

Well I certainly wouldn't base my purchase just on a memory mark bench mate.

Really makes very little difference & those results are closer than they seem.

Is the strix a better board than the gigabyte , on a component quality level I'd say yes , on an actual perfoemance level no, they're the same.

Look at other benches on there & the asrock pro 4m is coming above both of them (& its one of the cheapest boards around)

Hi all, thanks for your support!
I am currently using my rig. It has the same specs as above but the MOBO is an ASUS PRIME X370-PRO because the B350-F, I find is less value for money, being the most expensive B350 board out there, currently.
I also downgraded to a Corsair RM550x and it will be MORE than fine, also for the future, PCPARTPICKER, says that it is using less than 300 watts currently I am going to overclock my R5 1600 to 3.8-4.0 GHz, depending on the cooling and chip. I guess I will be drawing something like 315 Watts now.

Also, I succesfully clocked my RAM with the latest BIOS settings to 2933MHz and 1.350V. It works fine.

Thanks for your help y'all :D

Edit: I already had a Razer Abyssus 1800 and now I ordered a Corsair Strafe MX Brown :D
I like it, though, still looking for a headset. Any recommendations?
