Good egpu for vr?

i currently have a gtx 850m and i know that cannot smoothly run vr I was wondering if my laptop would run vr if i purchased the following

processor: Intel core i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz

RAM: 8gb

System Type: 64 bit

Your cpu will not be able to run vr properly. For a smooth experience you need 90 fps and your cpu will probably not even allow 60. The 1060 also needs a 6 pin pcie power cable from a power supply. This site details how to setup an eGPU. You need to do a lot of research, you won't get the full performance of the card you buy and as I said your CPU is not good enough anyway.
