PSU Watt size for Ryzen 5 1600 GTX 1060

I want to know the answer to my question that has been going in my head for a while now.

In the future, my upgrade will be a Ryzen 7 1700 or a GTX 1070.

I want a PSU that can be future proof for gtx 1070/ryzen 7 1700 but will also be suited for a ryzen 5 1600/gtx 1060.

I just need a number of watts. I can find which PSU brand that I need.

Also, I WILL NOT BE OVERCLOCKING

450W is the recommended minimum for a system with a GTX 1060. But I would never go that small. If you get a good quality PSU, 550W would be the smallest I would go for overhead and overclocking.

650 watts will be more than enough. But typically there is not much price difference between 650 and 750.

I think a 550watt would be ok for Ryzen 5 1060
You would probably need a 650 watt for the Ryzen 7 1700 and gtx 1070
To be safe I would get a 750watt so you can upgrade later and never be concerned about being low on power for overclocking

I have a corsair 750w and I love it!

Given that computer component power usage is staying the same or going down for the most part, I don't think there's much benefit in getting a higher wattage PSU for the sake of potential upgrades. A good 550W PSU is enough for just about any single GPU build, and I don't see that changing.

If I were to overclock, it would be the CPU. Not by much. I would only overclock it to the point where it's 90% safe. 550 still good? I see many deal about it. The 700W that i found is $20-25 more.

EDIT: A 700W is actually only $10 more than the 550W. Unless I go for a 500. I might just take the 700W.

An overclock Ryzen 7 only draws ~150W

A factory overclocked 1070 would be around 200W max. Add another 50W for the rest of the system, you've still got a fair bit of headroom with a good 550W. Key word there being "good". What exact models are you actually looking at?
