AMD and Nvidia video output inquiry

Hey guys, my friend recently made a new PC and for some reason an R7 250 has video output but a GTX 950 and 1050 do not. The 950 was tested on another computer, and it works 100%. Only the 950 needs a PCI-E power connector. Does anyone have a possible fix?

1 4GB DDR3 DIMM from a prebuilt PC, unknown brand, plus a Kingston DDR3 4GB, both at 1333 mhz
ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard
EVGA 500W PSU
Sandisk SSD Plus 120GB
Seagate 2.5 inch 2TB HDD

The motherboard BIOS is already updated, and the 950 worked on it before in a previous build.
