Hello everyone! I am looking into building a gaming pc and am trying to pick out parts. My budget is around $1500 but preferably lower. I have already looked into the CPU and decided to go with the ryzen 1600x. I was wondering which motherboard to get that is around $125. Any suggestions are appreciated. Also while I'm at it, I was thinking of getting the cheapest gtx 1080 on the market right now. Would that be a good choice or will something bottleneck? I will take any suggestions on other computer parts also. Thank you so much!

For SSD, refer to this... https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001396.htm

The second point is related to your RAM... https://www.toptengamer.com/best-ram-amd-ryzen-5-7-cpu/

As for the motherboard, the Pro Carbon is one of the best B350 boards. If you want better, you need to get X370 which doesnt offer as much value as the B350 units bang for buck. If you want X370, then this is as good as it gets... https://pcpartpicker.com/product/GMQRsY/asrock-fatal1ty-x370-professional-gaming-atx-am4-motherboard-fatal1ty-x370-professional-gaming
Its a bit expensive but has every feature that the platform can offer including bluetooth and wifi.

This is less expensive and offers most of the features of the above...
Something like this should be pretty dope...

Wow, thanks for the quick and thorough response!
I want to know what more people in the community think about this build.
Also, how about this one: (needs a CPU cooler)

AMD - Ryzen 5 1600x

Motherboard
MSI - B350 PC MATE ATX AM4 Motherboard
$93.98

Memory
Team - T-Force / Night Hawk 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory: $109.99

Storage
Western Digital - Blue 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive: $139.99
Video Card
EVGA - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB SC2 Gaming iCX Video Card: $569.99

Case
Cooler Master - MasterBox 5 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case: $64.98

Power Supply
Corsair - TXM Gold 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply: $74.99

I was also thinking that I should get a hard drive instead of ssd for this one, but I don't really know

We will start with the assumption that your budget is really what you quoted($1500)...

> The Gaming Pro Carbon board has better VRM for overclocking and other features for better functionality than the PC Mate.

> Ryzen is proven to perform better with the GSkill units with Samsung B die.

> A SSD is going to increase performance with boot and load times and you will notice the difference in real time.

> The PSU you have listed is mediocre. You need to change that.

Ok thank you. What is the benefit of having an ssd and a hard drive? I will definitely change the PSU, because this is a build I found online and I need opinions. I guess I will cross off the pc mate, but I want more choices than just the gaming pro carbon, too. I didn't understand you second point, so I need some clarification on that, sorry. Thanks for the response though, any thoughts are appreciated by anyone. As for my budget, I will go over 1500 a bit, including a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

Yes its a good cooler and should keep the cpu cool adequately upto moderate OC. Dont get it if you plan extreme OC.
