New 1070 gtx and i7-7700 CPU getting fps drops in most games

Hi

I just entered the world of PC gaming. I know very little about it. I have been getting a high frame rate, for the most part, in all games but the fps will randomly drop. It feels like a split second of freeze then continues as normal. The only game that runs completely smoothly is Overwatch. It runs on epic settings and stays around 90-95. I'm getting these frame drops in Crypt of the Necrodancer which most computers should be able to play. If someone could help me out that would be great. Also remember I am computer stupid

so break it down into dum dum speech.

I agree, don't forget the monitor model. I suspect you have a 60Hz monitor and exceeding that limit which leads to tearing (it can also lead to stuttering).

Your specs looks good. Which windows os are you using? I guess you are having an SSD and have an enough amount of free space left. Even though free space doesn't matter much with the FPS, u need to have atleast 10-15% of the total SSD space left as free space.

check your windows update, uninstall the latest flash sofware update. i was having the same issue, and this solved my problem

hmm my PC doesn't even have adobe. I went into uninstall files and looked around. Also my PC is up to date

are you sure? its on settings > update&security > update history > uninstall updates > adobe flashh player

So i uninstalled the security update for adobe, not sure if that is the correct one. It was the only one relating to adobe. The fps problems still persist.

Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB4034674) it looked like this. It has already come back as well.
