Should i buy AMD Vega 56?

Shall i buy Vega 56 as an alternative to gtx 1070 ?
Will it work with Thermaltake DPS-G 850w PSU?
Furthermore, will it come with a DP-DVI adapter?

Just wait for all the reviews today and decide yourself. Check what comes in the box for DVI adapters and or if any cards have DVI ports. The 850w PSU is way more than enough PSU for a single Vega 56.

By the way, i m also planning to buy a giid 1080p monitor at a later date.
Can u tell me whats the difference between Display port 1.1,1.2 & 1.3?
What if i buy a 1.1 or 1.2 display port monitor?
Will it work with display port 1.3 ?

The question of whether it's better to get a Vega 56 or GTX 1070 is impossible to answer until the Vega 56 is actually released and reviewed.

The reviews are in the Vega 56 is slightly faster than the 1070. Honestly its a bit of a wash on what to choose.
Read through the reviews and see what games you play or thinking of playing. Also if you can wait I would wait until you see after market Vega 56's they should run quieter and cooler.

If you like low power efficiency space heater with no semi passive fan mode in idle and 45 dB noise level under load, then go ahead. It's a shame really, RX 56 would be a very nice card without these two deficiencies. Here is a review:

Yeah the stock Vegas are loud, the Vega 56 isn't terrible on efficiency but the stock cooler sucks. I would read reviews, as the Vega 56 is just as fast as the 1080 for battlefield 1 so if that is your thing its a good value but the stock cards I would pass on as they are simply not that good.

If you had to buy today I would get the 1070 if you can wait for aftermarket designs to land, the Vega 56 is a good option. You really cant go wrong at 1080p with either choice.

Some people are saying that i should wait for Nvidia Volta & AMD Navi.
What do u guys think ?
Btw, currently i m using gtx 970 with core i5

Its entirely up to you. My advice if you are not getting the FPS you want now then upgrade now if you are then wait(kind of obvious I know). Volta is a early 2018 release and Navi is slated for 2019 both should be large jumps in performance as usual.

I think i should wait for Nvidia Volta.
If i buy either gtx 1070 or Amd Vega 56, they both will become outdated in a matter of months.

If you're using gtx 970, you can easily wait for Volta, especially if you're gaming only on 1080p. Volta architecture will bring even better performance with higher power efficiency. Navi is too far away. I sound like NVidia fan, but I'm really not, I had high hopes for Vega and I'm very disappointed that AMD can't compete even with 15 months old NVidia's architecture.

That is pretty sensible likely what I would do in this case as well. Also at 1080p the 970 may be doing pretty well for games you play through 2018 depending on the titles you play. I would just hang until you are not happy with the FPS then jump in, as there is always a new card months away due to how Nvida and AMD stagger releases.

Volta should be everything you said and Navi likely will be a 2x jump on performance to what Vega is today but that is 18 months out.

If you wait for the next best thing, you will wait forever.

If you have a need to upgrade your gpu now, buy now.

That said, GTX970 is a very good card today.
If you want a gpu upgrade, make it a significant upgrade or you may be disappointed.
TOM's recommends at least a 3 tier jump:

That would put your upgrade into the GTX1080 or GTX1080ti category.
Vega 64 does not seem to be a very good competitor vs the GTX1080.

I know that the Vega 64 is released, but I can't seem to find the 56 anywhere. When does that one go on sale? And if I decide to get one I can't decide if the liquid cooling is necessary or not....I realize if it were absolutely necessary to run it with liquid cooling they would only sell it that way, but it seems to be gettin bad rep for running pretty intense (power usage, noise, etc.) for such a big price tag, I want to ensure that it lives a long lifespan, ya know?

I read the hands-on review of OC3D regarding Asus Strix Vega 56.
It reduces the temperature to a significant level but it is still not on par wid the gtx 1070 in terms of temperature

Looks like there wont be new gpus coming until next year.
Personally Im waiting to see what the custom boards will be like for VEGA 56. I'm tempted of replacing my 480 Red Devil to a Vega Red Devil.
