Recently, I've notice that when I'm browsing the internet (with Firefox), the website will display in German or give me a German ad. I'm from the UK, so this is very strange. This happens infrequently though, so I'm not sure if it is something malicious. I do have a subscription to a VPN service but I never masquerade as a German. Should I be concerned?

Verify that your Date & Time settings are correct for UK.

In Firefox type: "about:preferences#content" (without quotes). Look for any German listings.

So, if you did something as innocent as lookin up a German city or beer then your computer may have some "I am German" flag or indicator set.
