I'm building a pc and when it's done I want to use a wired connection so it's faster, the room with the router and modem is across the house and I don't want to run a 100ft cable across the floor, I have a coax thing in the room that I want the wired connection in, I was wondering if I could just get a cable modem and run it from the coax then to the pc with a cat cable, would it get the same fast connection if it was from the router directly? Or would I need to move the router and modem from the other room?...

Solution
Current setup being the following line diagram:

ISP ----current coax cable ----->modem ----Ethernet cable ----->router ------Ethernet cable ------>PC

So if you can identify the connection points, you should be able to use:

ISP ----current coax cable/barrel connector/coax to room ----->modem ----Ethernet cable ----->router ------Ethernet cable ------>PC

Also consider using a pair of Ethernet powerline adapters. Usually in a kit of two.

E.g.

https://www.amazon.com/Zyxel-Powerline-Gigabit-Adapter-Starter/dp/B00D7GF6NA

Should work just fine but (caveat) there is a dependency on the electrical layout of your home and the condition of those circuits.
