I bent the CPU pin on my old motherboard so I bought an exact new version and replaced it, now I'm trying to boot up and I'm stuck in still mode.

I have the power connected properly, one stick of correct speed ram, (it worked a week ago in the same, but old, motherboard) I have one case fan plugged into my CPU fan, in case it wouldn't let me boot up without a CPU fan, I have no CPU installed, no gpu installed, I'm just trying to get the fan to spin, so I can go from there.

I plan on installing a Core I7 7700k 4.2 ghz into the pc but I'm pretty sure I have to update the bios software right? Or does it come 7th gen ready?

I followed the http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems boot problems post steps, but it didn't help. I tried all four of my RAM sticks separately, Idk what I'm doing wrong or what I'm missing but if someone could help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank you so much.

Solution
No CPU installed then it cant work.
You could also have problems with the BIOS version of the board when you try that 7xxx processor.

I heard that you can boot without a CPU it just won't go to bios, and yeah I figured I am just nervous I'll bend the pin again putting my 6th gen CPU in and then updating then putting my 7th gen in

Because I was happy with the board I had and it works with my case, I wasn't looking to upgrade I was looking to replace, I had already bought a brand new CPU and water cooler I didn't have much left in the Bank to spend freely
