Mysterious FPS Overlay

Yesterday, when I launched PUBG, there was a strange and obtrusive FPS display in the bottom right hand corner of my screen. I launched Skyrim today, and the display was still there. I fiddled around with settings in steam and nvidia, and, after asking a friend who had never seen it before, I don't know how to get rid of it.

My GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB.

I don't have that menu available but under settings I have the FPS counter off. The display is still there.

I closed all programs and the only app operating was Skyrim. The overlay was still there when I opened the game.

If it's any help, it's also making the sound not play.

the shadowplay fps counter doeesn't look like that even though the colors remind me of nvidia

I am pretty sure that it is one of your softwares that acts as a fps counter. You should check all of them
