Somewhat "burnt" laptop screen?

Hey there!

Basically, I have this laptop next to my PC that I use for almost everything - school work, watching youtube videos, listening to music, etc.

However, I accidentally left the laptop screen on over night...for 2 nights...at full brightness...

I know that's bad, but I wasn't really thinking at all. Basically, my laptop has some kind of "burn". Everything except for the top of of the screen has kind of gotten this purple-shade in very visible lines. The shade turns into a darker-green color when I look at something dark on my screen. (I apologize if I can't explain it correctly. If pictures are needed I'll gladly post some).

I was wondering if there is any simple fix I can do? Or is my laptop screen dead to which I will have to get it repaired/buy a new laptop?

Thanks!

Solution
Sometimes burn in can be fixed by leaving a white screen up for an extended period and then adjusting the display settings to compensate for the added white in the display.
