hello everyone , so i was surfing on the internet and gathering some information about upcoming games and i thought it would be nice to see if my GPU can handle a game like Star Wars: Battlefront 2 i don't know if it's forbidden to name other sites here because i'm new here anyways i used game-debate's ''Can I Run it'' feature and put my rig it's

MSI GT 1030
i7-4770 @3.40GHz
8 GB Ram

then i proceeded to see the results and it said i can run it but i realized there was a bottleneck warning and it was ''GPU'' so my question is..is it really true that my GT 1030 bottlenecking my i7-4770? should i be worried?

Solution

Your concept of "bottleneck" is incorrect.
In general parlance, a bottleneck is when one part is running at or near its max, and the rest of the system is loafing along.
It does not cause the rest of the system to run slower. It simply does...

yes the 4770 is capable of handling MUCH more powerful gpu's

the 1030 is garbage for gaming, it's meant more for systems that lack a built in

sorry but unless you are gonna send me some gtx 1060 or 1070 you don't get to say GT 1030 is garbage because people like me can't save up money and live at the same time and it handles all today's games pretty well anyways you clearly didn't get my point i know what i7-4770 is capable of , my question is about my GPU. is it gonna make my CPU perform less than it would normally do with a gtx 1050ti or gtx 1060?

you asked a question and I answered truthfully, I understood the point clearly

so I will answer again, YES it will hold back the 4770 by virtue of its garbage performance

the 4770 is capable of handling much stronger gpu's

lets say the 4770 is capable of 100 fps with a gtx 1080 in game X

the gt 1030 may only be capable of 20 fps in that same game X, you will only get 20 fps even though you have a 4770 capable of 100 fps

do you understand?

well it seems you are wrong because i just tested in Battlefield 1 with 1080p High Settings and it did fine.what i got from this is all i'm doing is wasting the potential of my CPU with using gt 1030 instead of other high-end GPUs which is fine for me.oh also let me say this i asked a question about my GPU holding my CPU back and not how GT 1030 performs in games don't act like a damn genius here. people like me aren't rich-tards like you.ban me i don't care your attitude was disgusting you can have anything you wanna have in this world but you still need to show some respect to my pocket just because i can't afford something doesn't mean what i have is bad. for you gt 1030 might be trash but for me it's great.

my apologies to you friend but what he did was unacceptable calling my graphics card ''garbage'' anyways i'm gonna ask you maybe you can answer more clearly ok my question(again) is let's say someone with GT 1030 + G4560 gets 60 fps in GTA 5 with 1080p @ high preset and i have GT 1030 + i7-4770 and i use the same resolution with same high preset..will i get lower fps than the guy with G4560 CPU ? that's a kinda of bottleneck question i am asking.

Your concept of "bottleneck" is incorrect.
In general parlance, a bottleneck is when one part is running at or near its max, and the rest of the system is loafing along.
It does not cause the rest of the system to run slower. It simply does not allow it to reach its max potential.

Some games rely more on the CPU, some games more on the GPU.
No games rely on only one of those.

Given 2 systems (as per your description):
1. GT 1030 + G4560
2. GT 1030 + i7-4770

....#2 will have at least equal, or probably higher, FPS.

Having said that, the 1030 is a sub par GPU.

And here's a mind blower for you....every single system on the planet, no matter for what use...has a "bottleneck" of some sort.
Every one.

did you test with an actual gaming gpu and compare fps?

1 - "what i got from this is all i'm doing is wasting the potential of my CPU"

correct, which answers your original question:

2 - "is it really true that my GT 1030 bottlenecking my i7-4770?"

"i asked a question about my GPU holding my CPU back and not how GT 1030 performs in games don't act like a damn genius here"

they are related, you just dont seem to understand see #1

"people like me aren't rich-tards like you"

this is out of left field and completely irrelevant to your question, put your feelings of hurt aside and think rationally

"attitude was disgusting you can have anything you wanna have in this world but you still need to show some respect to my pocket"

people deserve respect when they show respect, you let your emotions of hurt make you think I was attacking you.
When I was pointing out the 1030 is a sub-par choice for a 4770

" just because i can't afford something doesn't mean what i have is bad"

correct, it is bad BECAUSE it is bad
