Hi.
I have a 1,5 TB HDD with an old recovery partition on it and I would like to delete it.
Its 16 GB and marked as "Healthy (Recovery Partition). But I would like the drive to only have 1 partition!
Please let me know if theres any other info I can give.
I`m pretty sure theres a smart guy here that can help me.There always is!
Thanks in advance.

You most certainly can delete the Recovery partition from your 1.5 TB HDD and you do not need a third-party program to do so.

Since you're running Win 10 presumably the HDD is (or will be) serving as a secondary drive in your system or as a USBEHD.

Strangely enough we've found in some cases with Win 10 you can simply use Disk Management's delete function to delete the Recovery Partition on a secondary drive. Ordinarily Disk Management cannot be used to delete the Recovery Partition although in rare cases for some unexplained reason we have been able to use DM to carry out the deletion.

But in virtually every case you will need to use the DiskPart utility to do so. It's a simple, straightforward procedure where the final Diskpart...
You can certainly delete the partition.
If the partition is at the front of the disk though, you cant just expand it into the primary windows partition though. You would need a software that can bassically push all the data over on the drive to expand it and that is just asking for issues.

So if you dont NEED the space than let it be. If you NEED the space then wipe the OS and reinstall.

Keep in mind that the recovery partition is there for a reason and is very convenient vs having to manually reinstall the OS and drivers.

The recovery partition is there to assist if you need to "recover" a system that will not boot. You could delete it, you could also make a bakup to the entire drive then you would not need the recovery partition.

To delete the partition you must boot to an OS other that the windows version on your hard drive. What you boot from (CD,USB) and what program you use is completely up to you. I prefer to boot a USB with windows PE and use diskpart to perform partition changes.

It's a simple, straightforward procedure where the final Diskpart command (after selecting the RP) is "delete partition override". If you don't know how to use Diskpart do a Google search for background & basic instructions on using that utility. DiskPart is a most valuable tool for PC users and you should become familiar with using it.

(Assuming you're not knowledgeable about using DiskPart), you access DiskPart by right-clicking on the Windows logo at the bottom left corner of the Desktop screen and select the Command Prompt (Admin) option.)
