Hello everybody,

I have an Acer Aspire 4830TG, running Windows 10, with a 300GB SSD, and 16GB of RAM.
Recently, a couple of keys were broken off after the laptop fell. [facepalm]
I tried to repair the keys, and accidentally snapped the plastic key holder. [another facepalm]

Anyways, my question today is, can I upgrade this non-backlit keyboard in this laptop to the following backlit keyboard from NewEgg? It lists that it is compatible with my laptop, however, I am not too sure and it looks a little bit sketchy, to be honest. My question is, will this work correctly? If not, is there another option? I know there are plenty of non - backlit versions for sale, but I could only find this backlit version, and I would prefer to have backlighting, as I am far ready from replacing this laptop. (just dropped ~$350 installing upgrades and replacing battery!!)

Here's the link to the keyboard:

Thanks!!

the keyboard should work, but I am unsure if your system has the power plug/socket for the backlight. have you removed your keyboard? does it have the second gold ribbon cable. In my experience the keyboard has a single ribbon cable. I assume the thin gold ribbon is the power for the backlight/connection to LED controller.

I have no idea if it has another cable ;)
I will look now and see. If there isn't another connector, I will just get a regular keyboard. Thanks!
