For some reason, it's unbelievably hard to find benchmarks for Phoenix, but out of those i've found it seems it really is one of the best 1080s out there. At first, i wanted to buy the ftw2 (knowing about the fixed flammable problems with ftw1), but the Phoenix costs about the same in my country and by benchmarks, it gives about 1 FPS more (whoa, right?).
Anyway, i'll be using my new pc solely for gaming. Can anyone give me a hint as to which direction to go to, please?

They will perform about the same. If I had to guess GPU boost 3.0 will be able to reach slightly higher clocks on hit EVGA card due to it's better cooler and VRM design. If both of these cards are the same price then the EVGA FTW2 is obviously the superior card in terms of how it was built and the components used on the PCB.

Well the gainward card looks to be using the nvidia reference PCB if I am not mistaking. The EVGA card certainly has more phases and looks to be a much more robust VRM. They will perform identically at the same clock speed, the EVGA card may possibly overclock a bit better due to it's more robust VRM.
