Games suddenly taking ages to load stuff.

Hi, first time posting.
Specs: i5 4670k, GTX 680, 16GB DDR3, 2TB HDD + 120GB SSD (all powered via 650W). Windows 10 (which boots as normal)

So since last night, all games I play have started to act in a strange yet common manner.
They all take MUCH longer to load models, even freezing sometimes to do so; and the audio is lagged the first time round, but is okay after that. (Note that these games are running over 60fps at 1080p before and after this weird thingy)

E.g DotA2 - The models usually are almost instant to load, but now they take a few seconds, sometimes freezing the game. Whenever I highlight something or open a menu, the game freezes at it tries to load whatever it is. The game freezes every-time an ability is casted for the first time (since opening the game),as well as a new hero model in-game.

Overwatch - The game runs fine, but models take close to 30 seconds to load, and sounds are delayed by 5 seconds, but the same sound is not delayed after the first time. This results in the game looking like an empty map with no HUD, but I can still fire and get hitmarkers - its like 6v6 but everyone is invis, and you cant hear the shooting.

No Man's Sky - The game loads and runs fine, but upon opening a menu, the game freezes hard, leaving two options - either wait for a minute or so, or close the program as it isnt responding anyway.

I have no idea what is causing this, but I have to guess that my 5 year old 680 has something to do with it.

My CPU runs at 45C; GPU runs at 60C; and storage is at 40C. (running OW)
Windows runs perfectly on the SSD, and the HDD is okay too as programs run fine on it; so its potentially the GPU right?
