ASRock Fatal1ty B350 itx behaving weird (always high mobo temperature, fan speed)

I recently purchased an ASRock Fatal1ty B350 motherboard. Because I built in a very small itx case, I'm constantly keeping an eye on my thermals for now.
I noticed that the SYSTIN temperature as shown in HWMonitor was always 114°C-120°C (237°F-248°F)
This temperature rarely ever changes. Is this a software error? I read in other forums that HWMonitor might try to read from a nonexisting sensor, is this the case? Or is my motherboard faulty and I should return it? The UEFI shows the same temperature.

HWMonitor also shows the fan speed of AUXFANIN0 changing rapidly, although there is no audible difference in the fan speed and I even set a custom curve that shouldn't spike.

Here's a link to a gif of the readout

Solution
these mb have two cpu fan connectors. the main cpu fan plug will speed up and down. the cpuaux plug is for liquig cooling pumps and 2 cpu fans that dont need to speed up and down. make sure the cpu fan is moving and the cooler on tight. the cpu temp should be 30-40c range unloaded. there is going to be one warm temp on a mb and that the chipset. if the vendor did not use a large heat sink on them you may see that in your test program. try using hardware info 64 bit see if in the chipset sensor.
