Alienware M18 Sound went back to stock

Hello, I need help please. I uninstall windows 7 because my son downloaded some stuff online and everything went haywire. so I re installed windows 7 without backup. Now my sound is coming out from the stock speakers unlike before that has some bass and all. My question is how can I find out what sound card do i have? I checked device manager and it only shows the nvidia sound card but the sound it produces are from the stock speakers. Need help please.

Try the below setting once:

Right click on your speaker in the taskbar
Choose playback devices
Right click on speakers
Choose configure speakers
Choose 5.1 (next)
Deselect center and rear.. make sure subwoofer is selected.
Select full range if desired.
Finish and apply
