Hello everyone,

Im planning to upgrade my current setup:
ram: Samsung 8GB PC3-12800 DDR3 1600MHz non-ECC Unbuffered CL11 204-Pin SoDimm

motherboard: Lenovo 20BUS0QT0U with Intel Broadwell-U PCH L-P chipset

what I need is additional 8GB of ram. Its a company computer so Im limited to choose from the list of modules that my company's vendor has.

options:
8GB PC3L-12800 CL11 ECC DDR3 1600MHZ UDIMM

8GB PC3L-12800 CL11 ECC DDR3 1600MHZ RDIMM

Would any of these modules work in a dual system with my current ram?

Thank you

Solution
1) What is your computer model?

2) If your computer is using the non-ECC RAM, you can't use the ECC RAM.

3) Because your computer has the sodimm type, so it should the laptop, you will have to buy the sodimm type, not the desk top memory type. So talk to your company IT for RAM upgrading.
