I recently watched a movie on fmovies.to and the next day i tried to boot my laptop up and i am getting the error hard drive not found. However, i did a few checks such as removing the hard drive and placing it back in and reset bios but i am still getting the same error. I am wondering if the hard drive has failed or if its a virus?

i Am not able to back up my hard drive because as soon as it passes the manufacturer's logo on startup, the error is displayed. No i have not tested the HDD on another PC. I was thinking of using a USb to SATA connector to test it. I am not able to provide a snapshot of the error message, however the the direct message i am getting is "Hard Drive - Not Installed". And yes the HDD Spins, NO cracking noise though.

To me it seems as though its a faulty/failed drive. However, my biggest concern is the getting the OS and information back. Is there a way to recover both? If i am to install a new Hard drive is there a way to mirror the data from the old drive to the new one?
