I would like to convert a wired(RJ45) web cam to a wireless by using a USB repeater. Problem is the camera only has a RJ45 port. Can I use one of those inexpensive Male RJ45 to female usb converter plugs to make this happen? Or am I SOL?

Thanks
Mike

Wireless USB devices are normally meant for use on computers only, since they require drivers be loaded to the computer. Connecting it directly to a web cam via converter wouldn't work. Without knowing the make and model of your USB repeater, it's impossible to tell you for certain if this would be the case in your situation.

In order to get your RJ45 web cam to work over wireless, you will probably need to purchase a wireless bridge such as this...

Some routers can also be made to operate in bridge mode.

You are correct, I thought what I was looking at was a CPE unit but not so, it was a wireless adapter. I will have to find a cheap wireless router/cpe unit to bridge over .
Thanks
