GTX1070 - Differences in displaying total memory size - HELP!

I have just upgraded my PC with GTX 1070, however, when I checked the Dxdiag, it shows only 4gb. But when I checked with other software (GPU-Z, CPU-Z), it shows 8gb.

1) Are there any problems with my PC?
2) What is "Dedicated Video Memory"? And should I try to increase it?

My System:
- Ryzen 1700 - Palit JetStream GTX 1070 - Asrock 350M pro 4

Windows only displays a max of 4gb video memory, no matter what card you choose. I forgot the reasoning behind it, but that's my experience.

Games and programs will still use the full 8, Windows just doesn't show it. 8Gb is also quite a lot of memory for a card, the only thing you would need to increase it for is for heavy workstation loads and 3-6+ monitors

Hi, Thank you for your respones.
I am a CGI/VFX maker who uses After Effect, Houdini, 3Ds Max, etc. I mainly use my PC for video editing and stuff. I use 2 monitors, should I increase it ?

You should be okay. There's no reasonable way to physically increase video memory without buying a whole new card anyhow. The 1070 is a great card for pretty much all purposes, and you'll be satisfied with it.

Your dedicated video memory is 8gb, not 4. Windows will only show 4, but it has 8. That doesn't mean Windows is only going to use 4. Programs will still use all 8gb, regardless of whether Windows shows it or not.
