The key is DDOS is exactly that a denial of service attack it is not used to steal anything. It is purely used to attempt to over utilize your internet connection so there is no bandwidth left to do anything useful. Pretty much it is just a form of harassment.

You can do nothing to solve this unless you only want to play games that use a central public server. When you use your machine or someone elses as the host you must expose your IP for it to work. Then again you get their ip also.

In general it is nothing to worry about. Unless you put your ps4 in the DMZ or did a lot of port mapping the traffic from the internet can not get to your device anyway. Even if you did it would have to be some bug in the software and game...

The person doing this is most likely some 15 year old kid with a $5 booter trolling people online, most likely no need to be worried about anyone getting your info. What console were you playing on? Just don't fall for any phishing links they might send, sites that look legit but are actually just setup to get your passwords. Block them, don't join a voice chat with them (way most of them get IPs). There are different ways you can change your IP, you can ask your ISP directly or I'm sure you can turn your router off for 10 mins and turn back on again (that changes my IP). Just don't fall for the same thing after resetting it.

Almost all attacks against home users are "script kiddies" that have no clue how to really hack. They can run a few old hacking tools that are mostly no longer valid or pay for services like ddos attacks. True hackers are after money and a game console is pretty much not worth the effort. The small amount of hacking you hear about on consoles is related to cheating in games or running pirated games, which is more hacking your own console rather than someone elses.
