Anyone know how to remove this part right next to my video card?

I am planning to buy a GTX 1060 FE 6 GB from NVIDIA, but, there is a problem.

I opened up my computer, and found out that the 1060 will not fit in my Alienware X51 R2.

Why? There is a little thing in the way.

I need to know if I can remove it, and if I can, how. If not, then please give me some info.

I think it's some type of pin connector holder, idk.

Thanks!

You can remove that plastic hook. Just look at the back of that board and remove any screws attached to it. If there are none, use a slotted screwdriver to remove it. If you can't remove it, you can get a mini GTX 1060 6GB, and it will fit. But be aware that the case will melt your GPU, you need to give it a good airflow.

I would recommend cards that have blower-type fans instead. (max length = 9.5")

You may be right, I have no Idea what the airflow is like inside an alienware pc. The short cards would just be easier to fit is all.
I like blower style cards myself but most manufacturers seem to favour the other type and most cases can handle the extra heat.
