So I have just fitted a used but functioning ssd into a friends computer, it worked fine in my laptop amd works of a sort in his but there are issues.

The first issue is instead of the 250ish Gb storage it should have it only shows 15 Gb in Windows Explorer and disk part.

It also doesn't sho up in BIOS under sat drives or in the boot menu.

It does run Windows 10 fine and quickly so it must be functioning at some level.

Windows was installed from a USB stick that is no longer connected to the computer, the ssd is the only drive connected.

BIOS is set to AHCI.

I have tried booting from the USB, cleaning the drive with disk part and reinstalling windows. It made no difference.

I have removed the drive, plugged it back into my computer and verified that it works.

I am a stuck. Can anybody help?

Thanks.

I couldn't tell you, it's manufactured by Samsung and is badged 256Gb but I don't think it's one of their mainstream 850 series ones as it wasn't picked up by Samsung magician running on my laptop (which it functioned properly in).
