Hello!

I had just bought a new graphics card and installed it on my computer using a 6 pin power connector that's connected to my psu.
I immediately noticed that when playing games at its normal standard, the computer will suddenly go black for an instant then go back to normal, playing for a longer period of time makes these black screens more frequent until about 30 minutes in where the entire computer just becomes unresponsive.
I suspect that it may be because of either insufficient power from psu or not enough power going through that 6 pin power connector(if that even is a thing).

My PSU is sufficient enough to run the graphics card according to forums.

Furthermore, when I lower the settings and power usage of my graphics card to using ThunderMaster(a programme that comes with the card),the pc works fine even after long hours of playing OW(but it isn't running at its optimal speed).
Running very demanding games will cause it to crash suddenly too.

Any recommendations on what to do?

Old Graphics card:Geforce GTX 745 4GB
New Graphics Card: Palit Nvidia GeForce Gtx 1060 6gb Super Jetstream
Recommended Power requirement: 400W

My PSU:FSP 500-50AAGA(gold) (should be 500 W)

Com Specs:
Acer Predator G3-605
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 @ 3.60GHz, 3601Mhz,4 core(s)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6gb
1x 8GB kingston DDR3 RAM
2x 4GB Kingston DDR3 RAM

Any help is appreciated!!Will provide as much assistance as possible.

Just because a PSU is GOLD or BRONZE in zero way dictates quality. First of all, some companies are flat out lying about these but the 80-plus organization does not really care to do anything about it. Secondly the tests for 80 plus ratings has gotten very easy to achieve, even more so when the OEM can cherry pic the model they send in.

Now in regards to your FSP, it is not a bad-replace-immediately unit its just not a good unit. Couple with the fact that if this FSP is several years old then it likely has capacitor aging so thus it is at diminished quality.

I would go ahead and look into replacing the PSU, if nothing else buy and return one from local store to test this theory.
Evga G2/G3/GQ are all good, as well as anything made...
I would recommend an EVGA SuperNova Gold G2 / or new G3 /GS / GQ, Platinum P2 / PS, or Titanium T2 or a Seasonic M12-II Evo or S12-II
GOOD PSU EVGA is a B2, G2, G3, P2, GS, PS, or T2. Avoid the EVGA B1 and G1 series/ I bought a EVGA G3 with 7year garentee

or a corsair 500 600 cxm there not very expensive but quite good not my cup of tea but quite cheap.

You're fine.
1. Its GOLD. even if you would be 550W 500Wgold should hold. I do not recommend it but it should. What you describe seems like overheating. Did you try to clean those parts ? compressed air for the win.
2. check temps inside while benchmarking. Maybe you need to replace thermal paste on CPU.

Being "gold" has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the PSU. The gold rating is just energy efficiency. Considering there is no information on this PSU on any of the PSU tier list, I would not recommend using it for a gaming system.
