PC Freezes, screen goes black when gaming, but not when stress testing

As the title says, my pc crashes when playing games (like Besiege).
When playing Arma 3 and BeamNG (both hard on the CPU and GPU) the PC is as stable as it gets.
I can't find anything in the Eventviewer that says the crash is a driver fault (haven't had them in months).

Crash goes as follows:
1) Screen freezes (mouse can still move for a few seconds)
2) Mouse freezes
3) Screen goes black to "No signal"
Then I just restart the pc and it does like nothing happened.

Specs:
Intel Core I7 4790K
Asus Maximus VI Hero
Gigabyte R9 280X Windforce 3GB
Corsair Vengeance cmz16g 4x4GB
Coolermaster V850
Samsung 750EVO SSD 500GB
2x WD Black 500GB
Watercooled with custom loop

I doubt it is a hardware issue, but I also doubt it is a software issue.
The components are from a Crossfire setup PC (2x R9 280X) which ran stable, but now it's only a single GPU.

During stress testing (Prime95 and MSI Kombustor) nothing happens.
CPU capped out on 75°C as well as the GPU. No thermal throttling ensues.

It's a fresh install of Windows, all latest drivers and is up to date, cleaned, registry cleaned etc...
Also ran Memtest 3 times and no errors.

I have read this thread: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3245348/freeze-crash-playing-games-stress-testing.html?xtor=EREC-8889&_ga=2.30606655.1081565451.1502976394-404697262.1498730834 but how can I be sure it is the PSU?

All help is appreciated.

Absolutely no one with a solution?
I have now tested a different graphics card (also an R9 280X) and that didn't work. Then I've bought a CM V750 PSU and that didn't work either.
I'm stuck with my hands in my hair for a fix.
At the moment I'm busy with reseating the CPU and replacing the thermal paste.
It shouldn't be a cooling problem because the CPU is cooled by 1x120mm and 1x240mm rads.

I've ruled out the PSU now, because it's a new one and that should work fine, but it doesn't.

My problem is I think windows unrelated.
It also crashed in Mac OS Sierra (Hackintosh) So it could be something with the Bios or GPU itself because I already replaced the PSU.
I also flashed the BIOS to the latest version (1603) so that I can rule that out too.

Nothing overclocked here, running on stock clocks.

Didn't try it before but I do have a WUDFRD problem (KernelPNP 219)
Put it on automatic startup, and no other weird drivers that are missing or corrupted in devicemanager.

After the check, the pc crashed to a black screen again. I'm running out of options...

Update: well I tested the broken card with and without the riser in a different tower (with mobo, CPU and RAM) on the same OS disk. I have had no problems, but this one is an AMD system.
When I've put in the card into my current system (I7) it shows artifacts.
Is it the motherboard that is shot?

Okay, massive update!
I really don't know what's wrong with the whole setup, but it seems to not crash anymore.
Even both R9's work perfectly again.
I still get the WUDFRD error, but it seems to not influence the stability of the system.

I've stress tested it numerous times AKA gaming, benching, stressing (using Prime95&Kombustor), memtesting etc...
All without a problem.

Here's the fun part: I've put the system back in my desk pc, and it works like a charm. No problems at all...

Could be a loose connection somewhere, but I doubt it.

I also changed one of the 2 mini displayport to VGA adapters and the HDMI cable to DVI.
Could the adapter and/or cable be the source of the crash?

Once in a while, explorer.exe and chrome would bug/freeze, but nothing happens after that, just unfreezes and goes on like nothing happened.
