I'm thinking about buying a dell optiplex sff to put a graphics card in because it would end up being better than my laptop but I wanted to know if a GeForce gt 730 low profile would fit in it. If not please recommend cards that would fit around the same price thanks.

That's agood choice. The 64bit 1GB DDR5 is faster than other 730s by 3 levels in the GPU Hierarchy Chart.

It draws 37W so there is power form the 75W PCIe 16X for a nice overclock.
You will probably have to leave off the 2nd slot bracket. Usuallly a VGA connector cabled on there. Sometimes there's enough cable to run it behind the card. BTX slots run backwards, so just expect this.

I am currently running a GT 730 (LP) in my Dell Inspiron 620s, which is a sff pc. So, i believe it would work in your Optiplex as well. Go for it. It is undoubtedly the best performance card you can run in a sff pc with a psu as low as 250 W. If the power supply is over 250, say 280, then you should get a GT 1030 instead.
