Hi I recently built my computer with an intel i5 7500 (still buthurt about coffee lake) but I have been using the stock cooler but then realised it was too loud for even when it's idle . I was looking for a compatible cooler that was under £25 but willing to speld a little more for a decent one. I did see the cm 212 ego but was too loud at 36 db. The pure rock slim from be quiet is cheaper and quiter at 25 db. Is this good and are there any other quiter ones or better value thanks in advance.

The 212 evo is still far far quieter than the stock Intel but yes the pure rock slim is OK.

It is certainly not as quiet as the 212 though , never in a million years.

What case are you using ??
Do you want an easy fit solution or are you willing to change the backplate ??

hi i just had look and firstly i dont like the blue led fan and looking at reviews it does seem to have quite a loud fan. please if you have any other recommendations tell me i dont mind adding a back plate as long as it is simple thanks in advance.

^ its the best sub £25 cooler there is plain & simple though mate.
& you're reading specs on decibels but in reality all these 120mm towers are going to run near silent with an i5 7500.

Last attempt really at around £25

Cooler Master MasterAir Pro 3 CPU Air Cooler '3 Heatpipes, 1x 120mm PWM Fan, 4-Pin Connector' MAY-T3PN-930PK-R1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M0C1ZO3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_B5TLzb11DTX2F

It's a 92mm cooler but a very good (& very quiet) one.
More than enough for an i5 7500 & you can either fit the easy way to the stock Intel mounts OR change the backplate & bolt it down.
